Albertina Museum ~ Austria Vienna Photo Gallery

The Albertina Museum was established in 1805.  It is located in the inner stadt  district in Austria.  The museum was once a palace.  Unfortunately,it was bombed heavily during the war, resulting in major damages. Throughout the years the museum has been under construction at various times.  In 2003 final reconstructions were made to the structure.

The Museum houses a permanent collection of paintings from the various art movements.  It contains  a diverse collection of masterpieces, with paintings by Chagal, Monet, Miro and Picasso, among other great artist.  It is a great museum for beginner art lovers.  It is not too overwhelming and can be enjoyed over the course of two days.  Make sure to check out entrance fee discounts. For those of you who have never been to the Albertina, there is a photo gallery attached to this post for your visual pleasure.  Enjoy!

If you like Keith Haring, see my photo gallery for photos from the Abertina Haring Exhibition.

Keith Haring Photo Gallery ~ A Tribute To My Brother Peter Munoz

June 24th,  2018 –  It has been 4 years since my brother Peter was called to his “Spiritual Journey.”  My brother was a great man with the soul of a child.  He was loved by everyone.  He is missed dearly. As a tribute to him, on the 4th year of his passing,  Z and I visited the Keith Haring Exhibition in the Albertina Museum in Vienna.  Peter was privileged to have known Keith Haring.  He was a great admirer of his works and beliefs.

Here’s to you Peter and all the other Keith Haring fans, enjoy!

Vienna Snowglobe Museum Trip

Refurbishing and repairing snow globes is a passion and a hobby of mine. So it’s no surprise that when I found out we would be in Vienna, a visit to Erwin Perzy at the Vienna Snow Globe Factory and Museum was a must on my bucket list. Perzy’s grandfather invented the snowboarding globe back in 1900. The family has been producing snow globes since then. Vienna Snow Globes are collectors items. Each of them is a work of art in itself. The receptionist, who goes by T, quickly realized that Yvonne and I were extremely excited to be there. She introduced us to Erwin and gave us the “Secret” behind the scenes tour. Wonderful!

Salzburg Austria: Scenic Area

The Hills Are Alive With the Sound of Music! If that melody ever runs through your head then you probably know the mountains around Salzburg, Austria. The scenic exterior shots in the movie were shot right here. (Just for the record most of the interior shots were done on a soundstage in Hollywood.) Salzburg is only a couple of hours from Vienna by train. It made a wonderful, unforgettable day trip. Another one for the bucket list.

Vienna’s 21st District Neighborhood Stroll Photo Gallery

June in Vienna is wonderful.  The weather tonight in Vienna was cool and breezy, just perfect for a late afternoon stroll.

Z and I are staying in a beautiful Airbnb in the 21st District in Vienna. It’s a bit of a distance from the “Inner Stadt” but it’s a welcome respite from the plethora of tourist buzzing around like bees in the city center hive.

Our neighborhood is quiet and charming. As we began our walk to the High Danube Riverfront Park, I decided  to make a photo gallery to share the beauty of Vienna’s 21st District.

Edinburgh Scotland

It’s not difficult to see how the magic in the old city of Edinburgh, inspired J.K Rowling to write Harry Potter.

If you have ever dreamed of visiting Edinburgh, it should be included in your bucket list. The architecture is awe aspiring. Above all the people are about as warm and charming as they come.

Make sure to make time to visit the Highlands and learn more about Scotland’s medieval history.

Traveling on a budget? Castlerock Hostel is a reasonable and convenient place to stay.

It sits right at the base of Edinburgh Castle which is located right in the old city centre.
Scotland is a magical place. Be sure to visit during the summer.

The City of Berlin

Berlin is exciting, eclectic and trendy. It’s New York City wrapped in foil with a chocolate truffle inside.
After nearly going broke in Norway, Berlin was a gastronomic mecca with plenty to offer at prices we could actually afford.

The diversity of its population transcends to the variety of restaurants and fast food places to satisfy anyones palate. We found the prices in Berlin to be comparable to those back home. The exchange rate, although not in our favor, did not have any major impact on our selection of food. We were driven by sight and smell. It was such a pleasure and lots of fun.

US$$$ Translate To Expensive In Norway

Over the last few years we have spent very little time in Norway.  We usually will spend a day or two, while in transit to another country. It’s not because we don’t want to.  We love Norway! Unfortunately, we can’t afford to. I have considered staying longer for the sake of weight loss but i have no willpower.  That would be a disaster. I would be broke and overweight.

The meal you see in my photo above cost a mere $54.83. Something to consider if traveling to Norway.
